Machinery manufacturers are going big in Asia as recent data shows that five out of nine companies that topped the list of being the largest in the industry are from the said region. Although construction leaders from the U.S. got the first and last spot based on construction equipment sales as published by Statistica, it is still undeniable that machinery manufacturers in the East are becoming more powerful and influential in the market.
Let’s take a look at who these machinery manufacturers are and their construction equipment sales in U.S. billion dollars.
Caterpillar – US $26.64 billion
One of the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives. The company principally operates through its three primary segments – Construction Industries, Resource Industries and Energy & Transportation – and also provides financing and related services through its Financial Products segment.
Komatsu – US $19.24 billion
Komatsu is a Japanese company which main businesses are manufacturing and sales of construction and mining equipment, utilities, forest machines and industrial machinery. Komatsu Group is consists of Komatsu Ltd., and 266 other companies which have 193 operations. The company has more than 60,00 employees.
